The Cecovasa cooperative was established in 1970 and represents 5000 indigenous coffee farmers in the south of Peru. Cecovasa is successful because it uses its profits mainly for productive investments and because of the attention it pays to quality and commercial management.

Now, the members of Cecovasa market eight fair trade coffee brands, some of which have already won prizes. With the support of the TDC Cecovasa has started a project to improve the production capacity of 600 families from the more rural parts of the area where the cooperative operates.
