Ethiopia’s coffee could be its salvation against growing drought - The Independent

The agricultural sector now accounts for nearly half its GDP, and the country is boosting coffee production with the help of Fairtrade. In much of the world, coffee is a social lubricant, an indulgence, a morning eye-opener. In Ethiopia, it is also the backbone of the economy and now, as the country faces its worst drought in 50 years, it may also be its lifeline."
