Liège now a Fair Trade Town

On Saturday 9 October, the city of Liège, represented by alderman Jean-Pierre Hupken, received the title of Fair Trade Town from Pierre Santacatterina, Director of Oxfam-Magasins du monde, in the presence of Meryame Kitir, Minister for Development Cooperation.

Jean Van Wetter, director of Enabel, was also present to underline the collaboration between Enabel and the Fair Trade Town campaign (Miel Maya Honing, Fairtrade Belgium, and Oxfam-Magasins du monde).

Many members of the Belgian Fair Trade Federation (ETHIQUABLE Benelux, Hope project, La Pachamama, FAIREBEL...) were present with their products

In Wallonia and Brussels, 49 municipalities received the title of "Commune du commerce équitable" or Fair Trade Town.
